Paragon Die & Engineering partnered with Energy Design Engineers to implement a networked lighting control solution that significantly reduced energy waste, operational costs, and carbon emissions. The project led to substantial improvements in lighting quality—achieving over 100 footcandles throughout the facility—while reducing fixture counts by more than 60% and cutting lighting energy load by 90%. With a system designed to last over 25 years and require minimal maintenance, Paragon D&E now enjoys full control over lighting behaviors and levels. Thanks to the optimized layout and intelligent LED implementation, the facility transitioned from 1,250 outdated fluorescent fixtures to just 475 high-efficiency units. These changes reduced annual carbon emissions by 1,474 metric tons, and the utility provider, Consumers Energy, covered 49% of the total project cost due to the exceptional energy savings. The result: a dramatically enhanced work environment, a 1.04-year payback period, and long-term sustainability gains.
